The 28th Andrea Margutti Trophy promises a lot of spectacle on track next 25-26 March at the South Garda Karting circuit of Lonato, with a record number of strong drivers in categories KZ2, 60 Mini, OK, OK-Junior and X30 Senior.
The event organized by Parma Motorsport is part of the International CIK-FIA calendar and once again it will celebrate in the best possible way the memory of the young Andrea Margutti that passed away early in 1989. The 180 drivers entered so far confirm this race as a cornerstone in International karting.
The provisional entry list is made of drivers coming from 26 different countries: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Liechtenstein, Malta, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Uckrain.
All the most important international racing teams will be present, starting from Ward Racing, CRG, SRP, IPK, Modena Kart, CPB Sport, Maranello, BirelArt, Baby Race, Evokart, Gamoto, Chiesa Corse, Energy Corse, AF Competition, Solgat, CRG TB Racing, DR and a lot more.
KZ2’s entry list includes several interesting names of the likes of former European Champion Fabian Federer on CRG, Italian 2016 Champion Francesco Celenta on track for Praga alongside team mate Stefano Cucco, who was Italian Champion back in 2015, the winner of the latest Trofeo delle Industrie Riccardo Longhi on BirelArt, Maranello Kart’s pairing Flavio Sani and Marco Pastacaldi, the very quick Giacomo Pollini on Formula K and Lorenzo Lapina on Italcorse.
CRG works drivers Flavio Camponeschi, the Norwegian Dennis Hauger, CIK-FIA Academy Champion Callum Bradshaw and the German Hannes Janker will challenge the rivals in OK. Among the other main drivers of the category, Lorenzo Travisanutto and former World Champion Tom Joyner will compete on Zanardi, while Felice Tiene will get on track on BirelArt.
Team Ward Racing Team will field a strong lineup of 8 drivers in OK-Junior. CRG will line up two quick drivers like the French Gillian Henrion and the Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto, while Baby Race the very quick Andrea Rosso and Chiesa Corse the more and more competitive Leonardo Marseglia.
The strong and numerous lot of 60 Mini drivers will also get on track and as usual challenge each other from lights to flag, while the new single make Iame categories will have X30 Senior drivers fighting for the X30 Trophy that will take place in two rounds: the first being the Andrea Margutti Trophy and the second the 46th Trofeo delle Industrie, to be run next October 29th 2017.
The provisional programme of the 28th Andrea Margutti Trophy schedules free practice on Thursday March 23rd 2017, free practice and sporting scrutineering will follow on Friday, official Free Practice, Qualifying and Heats on Saturday, while Second Chance races, Prefinals, Finals and Prize Ceremony will end the event on Sunday March 26th.
