THE INITIAL CHALLENGES OF THE 36TH ANDREA MARGUTTI TROPHY STARTED IN LONATO

Qualifying practice and initial heats have kicked off the 36th Andrea Margutti Trophy at the South Garda Karting circuit.

The 36th Andrea Margutti Trophy has started at South Garda Karting with qualifying sessions and the first real competitions with the initial heats on Friday. The program of the event organized by Parma Motorsport will continue on Saturday with all the remaining qualifying heats, while the final phase will be held on Sunday, March 23rd, with live streaming from 10:50 with the Prefinals and from 13:50 with the Finals.

The qualifying sessions, which opened the 36th edition of the Andrea Margutti Trophy, were particularly exciting, with several surprises.

KZ2 – Bertuca takes the pole position, Forè best time in Session-1.

KZ2 immediately began with the sensational surprise of the pole position of Session-1 with the best time achieved by the multi-champion Davide Forè (IPK-Factory Team/IPK-TM Kart-Vega) in 45.663s, ahead of the German Davi Trefilov (Formula K SRP/IPK-TM Kart) at 0.163s and William Lanzeni (Lanzeni/RKS-TM Kart) at 0.218s. The overall best time did not escape Cristian Bertuca (KCS/BirelART-TM Kart) with a time of 45.441s posted in Session-2. He proceeded Giuseppe Palomba (Maranello Kart/Maranello-TM Kart) by 0.183s and the Spaniard Civico Genis (CL Racing Team/BirelART-TM Kart) by 0.205s.

MINI GR.3 – Perico is dominant, Poujol also does well.

In this start of the season Niccolò Perico (Team Driver/KR-Iame-MG) confirmed himself as the dominant force in MINI Gr.3, the always very lively category of the very young drivers. In the Session-1 Perico achieved the absolute best time in 52.876s, with a 0.083s advantage over the equally good Mason Robertson (BabyRace/Parolin-Iame) and 0.304s over the surprising Suarez Manzano (Tony Kart Racing Team/Tony Kart-Vortex). The Frenchman Jean Poujol (Tony Kart Racing Team/Tony Kart-Vortex) left his mark in Session-2 instead with a time of 54.309s, ahead of Giuseppe Noviello (MP Academy/Henza Kart-TM Kart) by 0.477s and the Turk Ruzgar Evci (BabyRace/Parolin-Iame) by 0.494s.

MINI U10 – Bergman is an excellent confirmation.

In the smallest of the categories, the MINI Gr.3 U10, another excellent protagonist was confirmed to be the very young American Josh Bergman (Kidix/KR-Iame-MG), author of the pole position in the only round of the category in 54.102s. An excellent performance was also put in by Andreas Papageorgiou (Monster K Factory/Monster-TM Kart) with the second time at 0.084s, and by the Thai Max Zvarich (Kalì-Kart Racing/T-Group-TM Kart), who posted the third fastest time at 0.206s. The Ukrainian Platon Kovtunenko (Bosch Racing/Energy-Iame) was also among the best at 0.226s as Nicolò Pacillo (MP REacing/T-Group-Iame) at 0.231s.

OKJ – Cocchianella surprises.

Antonio Cocchianella (Borsch Racing/Tony Kart-Iame-Vega) surprises in OKJ by taking the pole position in 47.809s, but the good girl from the Czech Republic Martina Rumlenova (MVM Racing Team/KR-TM Kart) was only 0.035s behind and the German Costantin Papst (DAP TB Racing Team/KR-Iame) was 0.037s adrift. Slightly further behind were the Finn Oskari Walle (Parolin Finland/Parolin-TM Kart) at 0.192s and Ilia Berezkin (Kalì Kart Racing/Kalì-Kart-TM Kart) at 0.249s.

OKNJ – Osadchyi-Suslovskyi takes the pole, while Stanley is excellent in Session-1.

A great battle has been fought in OK-N Junior, with the absolute best time achieved by the Ukrainian driver Vsevolod Osadchyi-Suslovskyi (Monster K Factory/Monster Kart-TM Kart-MG) in 47.921s in the final stages of Session-2. He was 0.075s faster than the American Nicola Stanley (MP Academy Gamoto/Henza Kart-TM Kart), who had achieved the best time in Session-1 in 47.996s. The gaps in the two Sessions were decidedly minimal. In Session-1 Stanley proceeded the Swiss Albert Tamm (Modena Kart/Parolin-TM Kart) by just 0.011s and Cristian Blandino (GSR Team/LN-Iame) by 18 thousandths. In Session-2 Osadchyi-Suslovskyi led Gioele Carrer (Emme Racing/EKS-Modena Engines) by 0.066s and the other Ukrainian Oleksandr Legenkyi (Team Driver/KR-Iame) by 0.330s.

OKN – Scognamiglio is the fastest, while Marchesi shines in Session-2.

A close fight was on also in OK-N. The best time in Session-1 was obtained by Manuel Scognamiglio (Tellone Motorsport/Tony Kart-Iame-MG) in 47.303s, which was the fastest performance overall. In Session-2 Nicolas Marchesi (Team Driver/KR-Iame) was the best in 47.478s. In Session-1, behind Scognamiglio, Alessandro Cocozza (Cocozza/Sodi-TM Kart) qualified second at 0.172s and Riccardo Brangero (Marra 61/Tony Kart-Modena Engines) third at 0.273s. In Session-2, 0.109s from Marchesi, Daniele Vezzelli (CM Motorsport/CRG-TM Kart) obtained the second time and Andrea Giudice (Marra 61/Tony Kart-Vortex) the third at 0.144s.
